Bah, I haven't used this thing in ages until last night after finding a webcomic and found it also had an LJ too so I remembered I had that crap happen over the summer. And apparently I made a complete ass of myself and misread something someone posted and went overly nerd without needing to. Attempting intelligence isn't the easiest thing to do at 2am especially after the day I had.

Sometimes I wonder why I joined Gaia, especially seeing the level of intelligence that hangs out there....especially in the Art Discussion forum. Sometimes it makes me hate art in general, but I'd be hurting myself by succombing to their stupidity. Hatred is an ugly thing sometimes. Can't point it in the right direction and loose control. Anyway, this is the most retarded thing that's happened as of late.

Goth Art. Does no one read a fucking book?! Honestly now! I think, in regards to artists as a whole, everyone should be forced to learn art history. Because I am seriously fed up with bullshit like "Goth art". Some of you may be wondering what I have against it.....which is nothing. I love Gothic art. It's the people who have no fucking clue what it is that bothers me. And damn you Charles Moffatt and your piddly imagination for not coming up with your own fucking term. *huffs*

This bothers me more than it should, I know, but I've sunk thousands of dollars to further my fucking education in the art field so I actually maybe possibly can get a job in art that isn't graphic design and can live off my own creations. Work for myself. I just wish people would LEARN before they attempt at intelligence when it's so effin clear to anyone with a brain that they have no idea what they are talking about.

To really clarify what's going on....I hang out in the Art Discussion forum on Gaia, mainly in the Cafe. That's basically the only breeding ground for intelligent conversation if you want any on Gaia (which obviously very few people do). We have masses of over done topics, like graphitti, Amy "art thief" Brown, artist A vs Artist B, a mix of different well known artists (like Van Gogh or...can you believe it Da Vinci!), and apparently now Goth Art. We've had several of these in the last few weeks and it seems that no one has a clue what they are talking about. I did however get one of the best compliments from Pink I think I've ever gotten: "Dammit, I KNEW I shoudln't have looked at that "Goth Art" thread. *stabs everyone but Orlana in there* XO". Orlana would be me. Anyway, I'll just let you see the stupidity for yourself.




Let me make something perfectly clear. I have nothing against Goths. Never have, probably never will. I don't really dress like them or live their life style, but I have plenty of Goth friends. My attack is purely towards the stupidity. There's a lot of these little dumbasses who are all "I'm Goth ph34r me!" on Gaia and I laugh at them. Hard. And yes, the Neo-Gothic Art Manifesto is a very biased and incorrect. But that's what you get from anyone who is outwardly left wing or right wing. It doesn't matter who it is or what they believe, it's all the same. I also wasn't attacking Baru, only clearing up that it is defined and has been for centuries. Baru's cool. The main reason I'm so worked up over this is that I get on this morning and find that after I said all of this, the creator of the thread comes back and says "If it's not goth, what do I call it?" *rips out her own hair*
